Young People

We strongly believe in helping young people gaining a voice and to help build skills, confidence and experience to go into the world. From access to cheaper theatre tickets to being a part of the Octagon community in our Youth Theatre – working with young people is essential to the wellbeing of our organisation.

Youth Theatre

We run over 10 Youth Theatre sessions at the Octagon with different groups catering from ages 5 to 21 from weekend to after school sessions. This is a great opportunity for young people with an interest in drama and theatre to engage creatively with peers and enhance their personal development. Our Youth Theatre is an inclusive provision and is open to any young person.

Youth Theatre sessions are divided into self-contained terms which vary in content; from a 'skills based' term, culminating in an informal sharing of what they have learned, to a 'production focused' term working towards a full scale production or gala performance.
