Relaxed Performances 

During our Relaxed Performances for the production there will be a quiet space and chill out area available. If you need to leave the theatre for any reason at any point during the show, you can visit this quiet space which is located in our first floor Kitchen & Bar area.

In this space there will be a variety of activities to enjoy including: soft play, sensory lights and colouring sheets, or where you can simply relax. There will be a television screen that links back into the theatre so you can still watch the performance while you’re out of the theatre, so you won’t miss a thing. You are then welcome to re-join the performance at any time.

These performances may be more suitable for audience members with sensory sensitivities, autism spectrum conditions and learning disabilities to enjoy the show.

At our Access Point you can pick up items such as ear defenders, sunglasses, fidget toys and much more to make your visit more comfortable.

FAMILIARISATION VISITS

If new places cause anxiety, or you have concerns about accessibility, we are happy to offer a pre-visit to the theatre to familiarise yourself with the venue. This can be arranged by calling our friendly Box Office team on 01204 520661 (option 2) or by emailing boxoffice@octagonbolton.co.uk

ASSISTANCE DOGS

Assistance dogs are welcome at the Octagon. Fresh water will always be available for them. They are welcome to stay in the auditorium during the performance or the dog can be looked after by our staff. If you plan to bring an assistance dog, whether they’ll be staying with you in the auditorium or you'd like us to care for them during the performance, please inform our Box Office at the time of booking.
