Summer School

This years Summer School participants  immersed themselves in the world of Shakespeare’s Macbeth...but with a twist! Reimagining the classic tragedy through the lens of early 2000s pop culture (think Britney Spears, Big Brother, and bootcut jeans), they brought to life an exciting new adaptation titled That’s So Macbeth.

Written and directed by our Youth Theatre Director, Ruth Allison, the production was created in just two weeks and was a huge success with our audiences!

A huge congratulations to all of our Summer School participants for creating such an incredible show in such a short time!

Sharing Stories : Library tour

Sharing Stories is our community project that provides young people, and their families with access to the arts.
Since the start of the Summer we've been performing free interactive storytelling sessions in libraries and museums across Bolton as part of our Library Tour. Inspired by nature our stories follow magical Story Garden adventures!

ArtBeat

Our ArtBeat group for over fifties recently spent three days working on the research & development of an exciting new project with director Sara Abanur and writer Becky Prestwich to see how theatre is devised from scratch and be a part of the writing process.

With our ArtBeat group we also partook in Age Without Limits Day in which we celebrated the creativity and dedication of our participants with a showing of their short film 'I Have Lived a Life, i am Living a Life'.

The short film can be viewed below:

Our First Ever Bridges Festival

Thank you to the generations donations from our Big Give campaign back in March, we were able to put on our first ever Bridges Festival.
Bridges Festival was made with, by & for learning disabled & neurodivergent young people & adults. The festival used theatre and creativity to build skills, confidence, social networks and improve wellbeing.
We had lots of activities going on around the building such as Puppetry Workshops, Claymation Workshops, Choir performances and much more. Our Bridges groups had the chance to perform in our studio and in our main auditorium!
