About Toxic
Following a sellout run at Greater Manchester Fringe Festival, Dan Lovatt’s award-winning play Toxic makes its debut at the Octagon.
Andy’s husband has left him. Best friend James is a man’s man, who uses gags to disguise his vulnerability. As their lives spiral out of control, they risk losing everything, unless they can find a way to open up. But time is running out, and their lives are not the only lives at stake.
Moving seamlessly between dry humour and heartfelt confessions, Toxic asks what it means to be a man, the power of friendship and speaking up at a time when men account for three quarters of all UK suicides.
Toxic is produced by Divided Culture Co., a company who platform northern voices, with amazing local talent telling the stories that matter to our communities.
