Howard Gray
OrchestrationsHoward was the original Musical Director and Orchestrator on, Blonde Bombshells at Leeds Playhouse in 2004. After a re-write from Alan Plater and some new musical arrangements from Howard, the show moved to the Octagon Theatre Bolton and then onto Hampstead Theatre. The show was awarded the MEN ‘Best Production Award’ of 2006. It has subsequently toured the country on several occasions and even gone to Malaysia. More recently, the show has been a co-production between Oldham Coliseum and the New Vic, Stoke, plus a fringe production in London.
Whilst Associate Artist at Bolton Octagon, Howard was Musical Director on Eight Miles High, Oh What a Lovely War, Once Upon a Time in Wigan, Song of Singapore, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, I Just Stopped by to See the Man.
He was composer for Danny, The Champion of the World.
He has worked extensively at many theatres in the North West including: Octagon Theatre Bolton, Royal Exchange Manchester, Royal Court Liverpool, Liverpool Everyman, Oldham Coliseum, Dukes Lancaster and Leeds Playhouse.
Howard is Creative Director of Alterean Media and Musical Supervisor at the Royal Court, Liverpool.
