Job Description

We are looking for a Kitchen & Bar Supervisor to help lead the delivery of our food and beverage offer and play a key role in creating an outstanding visitor experience at the Octagon. From welcoming audiences before a show to ensuring smooth service during busy events, you'll help create an environment where customers feel valued, looked after and excited to return. Working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, you'll combine hands-on operational leadership with a passion for hospitality, supporting both our daytime and pre-theatre dining offer as well as room hire events.

This role would suit someone with experience supervising a food and beverage operation in a fast-paced venue. You'll have a proactive, hands-on approach and be able to balance customer service, team leadership and operational responsibilities.

You'll have a strong understanding of customer service, stock and financial controls, and health and safety requirements, alongside a genuine enthusiasm for creating welcoming and memorable experiences for every visitor.

Our ideal candidate will be a food and beverage professional who will:

  • Lead the Kitchen & Bar team to deliver a friendly, consistent and high-quality customer experience that reflects the Octagon's welcoming and inclusive values.
  • Coordinate food and beverage operations, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, professionally and to the highest standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service, handling enquiries, bookings and customer issues effectively while creating a welcoming environment for all visitors.
  • Support the effective management of stock, EPOS systems, financial reconciliations, bookings and purchasing processes to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, health and safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.
  • Develop and support team members through training, leadership and clear communication, helping to build a confident and customer-focused team.

Our position on AI in recruitment

We believe in human creativity and take a human-centred approach to recruitment. This means applications are read and decided by people, not algorithms. Shortlisting is based on objective criteria for the job. In making your application, please write in your own words reflecting who you are, your skills and experience. You may use AI as a supportive tool and to aid accessibility. Applications that are clearly artificial, rely on generic statements, or remove your individuality will struggle to demonstrate the criteria required.
