Interim Producer

We are looking for a Interim producer to provide short term capacity and leadership to ensure the smooth delivery of the Octagon’s producing and programme. The Interim Producer will overlap during the transitional period, from January 2026 through to the start of the permanent appointment which we anticipate will be early April.

We are seeking a freelance professional with: 
• Proven experience in producing professional theatre productions, including working with creatives and co-producers, and of managing contracts and budgets. Experience with new writing would be beneficial. 
• Strong knowledge of theatre making and programming, with the ability to contribute to programming choices. 
• Track record of working in a theatre building and collaborating with colleagues across all disciplines to achieve results. 
• Excellent negotiation and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships. 
• Financial rigour and commercial awareness. 
• Excellent organisational ability to juggle multiple priorities, manage information quickly and effectively, and operate efficiently within a short timeframe. 
• Commitment to inclusivity, safeguarding and environmental responsibility.
