Young Octagon Performance –About Orchestra
A youth orchestra practises during half term holidays in preparation for a concert. Unexpected events cause them all to interrogate their relationship with success. How do you protect the joy of the process whilst also wanting to be the best? Is striving for artistic excellence worth the pressure of losing soul?
Orchestra is part of National Theatre Connections, performed by Young Octagon written by Charlie Josephine and directed by Ruth Allison.
Young Octagon is the Octagon Theatre’s performance company that develops excellence in young actors aged 13-19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs). Young Octagon provides an opportunity for talented young people who have the potential for professional acting and theatre making careers, to work with professional directors and creatives, to create bold and adventurous pieces of theatre for performance.
Please note this play contains strong language and material of a sensitive nature including a reference to suicide that may be triggering for some individuals.
