Our summer school is back for 2025!

The Octagon Theatre are looking for young people aged 11-17 to spend two weeks exploring and rehearsing a 00s-style reimagining of Macbeth to share with family and friends.

With the Octagon’s Creative Engagement team, you’ll work together as actors and creatives to tell the classic story of Macbeth with a modern twist. Over the course of the two weeks, you will develop acting and performance skills in a fun and inclusive environment.

Jump back to the 00s, to a time of Britney, Big Brother and Bootcut jeans. Get ready to be a part of this classic story of power and ambition like you’ve never seen it before!

Dates: Mon 21 – Fri 25 July & Mon 28 July – Fri 1 August 2025

Times: 10am - 3pm

*With the exception of Friday 1 which will run from 1pm to 7pm with special performances for friends and family.

As a charity, we strive to keep our fees at an affordable cost so as many people as possible can take part. We also offer installment payment options to help people spread the cost of fees. We realise that for some families, the cost to take part is a barrier.

We are sometimes able to offer financial assistance to participants experiencing financial hardship as well as those from communities currently underrepresented within our participation groups thanks to the generosity of our funders. We actively encourage applicants from those experiencing financial hardship and also those from Black, Asian and Global majority backgrounds.
