Octagon Social Theatre is a relaxed, friendly group for people who want to have fun, make connections and be creative together.
We make theatre that explores the social issues that are important to us and our communities, with the aim of making a positive difference in the world.
All experience and confidence levels are welcome.
What is Social Theatre?
Social Theatre, often called Theatre for Social Change or Applied Theatre, is a performance practice designed to drive social or personal change, rather than simply entertain.
Formerly known as ArtBeat our theatre participation group for Over 50s.
SUPPORTED PLACES
As a charity, we strive to keep our fees at an affordable cost so as many people as possible can take part. We also offer installment payment options to help participants spread the cost of fees.
We are sometimes able to offer financial assistance to participants experiencing financial hardship thanks to the generosity of our funders. We also acknowledge that there are communities currently underrepresented within the our participation groups and actively encourage applicants from Black, Asian and Global majority backgrounds.
