The Octagon has a proud history of new work. Plays first written for the Octagon, including Two by Jim Cartwright and Martha, Josie and the Chinese Elvis by Charlotte Jones, have gone on to be performed around the country and the world.

We work with writers of all backgrounds in the belief that everyone’s story matters and, in particular, to champion the next generation of emerging talent. Our commitment to diversity means that we seek out artists and voices that are currently under-represented on stage.

We're currently developing three new plays for the Octagon stage. As we are only a small team, we're not able to read unsolicited script submissions throughout the year.

Please follow us on social media for any new writing opportunities.
