We’re inviting local theatre freelancers (including artists, creatives and technicians) to join us for an open discussion about the current state of the theatre industry and the situation for freelancers in our sector. Hosted by Ibrahim Ismail and Philip Harland (Freelance Task Force Representatives) with Lotte Wakeham (Artistic Director, Octagon Theatre), we’ll share updates from the Freelance Task Force and seek your views about support for the freelance community in the challenging months ahead. This event is open to theatre freelancers who live and work in and around the Bolton area, along with freelancers who have recently worked on Octagon productions/creative engagement activities. This event will take place on Zoom.

About the Freelance Task Force

The Freelance Taskforce is built from individuals who have been brought together to incite change within the arts sector. Each individual is sponsored by one of the 150 arts organisations who initially signed up to Fuel Theatre’s Open Letter to Theatre and Performance Makers. The taskforce is run by freelancers to raise awareness of how the pandemic is affecting them. This free online event will enable our Taskforce Members, Ibrahim Ismail and Philip Harland, to gain a wider knowledge of what local freelancers want and need.
