About Monkeywood:

Monkeywood are an award winning Manchester theatre company making authentic and innovative new plays. Our work tells exciting, untold stories that are rooted in Manchester and the North West and offer a fresh take on the world. We make work with and for groups and communities whose stories aren’t usually told onstage and have a solid track record in seeking out and engaging with audiences who don’t usually go to the theatre.

We are recipients of the 2015 Manchester Theatre Awards Stage Door Foundation Award; graduates of The Lowry’s Associate Artist scheme; and work regularly with theatres in Manchester and the North including the Octagon Theatre Bolton, Royal Exchange, Dukes Lancaster, Burnley Youth Theatre, Hull Truck, Northern Stage, CAST Doncaster and The Lowry.
