Overview

Join specialist African artists from the African Community Association Bolton to discover the arts, crafts and music that are coming “Out of Africa” through this interactive workshop:

Traditional Textile crafts workshop including batik, tie-dying, starch resist dying.  Make your own batik, tie-dyed or printed headscarf. 

This is part of three workshops happening for the day:

  • 1.30pm Drumming with Nat Biney - learn the beat of traditional African drums
  • 2.45pm African Crafts - basket weaving and papercrafts with Winnie Kabula and Noelene Gillatt
  • 4pm Traditional Textile crafts workshop including batik, tie-dying, starch resist dying.  Make your own batik, tie-dyed or printed headscarf. 

Each workshop runs for an hour and you can take part in all them if you really want to soak up the ambiance. 

Places are free and all materials are supplied, but hurry, places must be booked and are on a first come first served basis.
