What does the Octagon mean to you?

The Octagon means EVERYTHING to me and I couldn’t possibly imagine my life without it.  It fulfils my creative needs, and my social needs.  I have met so many new friends through attending the Art Beat sessions and my confidence has grown so much.

What is your fondest memory of the Octagon?

There are so many, it really is hard to choose.  I have loved coming to Artbeat and meeting all the different practitioners that we have had and enjoying their leadership and their sharing of skills with us.  I have learned so much about the theatre.  One of my happiest and fondest memory is the opportunity that Elizabeth Newman gave us to be involved in the production of Gullivers Travels last summer in Queens Park.  It truly was one of the best experiences of my life and one that I will never, ever forget.

What about the new theatre building are you most excited about?

So looking forward to the new theatre opening.  It is so great to watch the Octagon change and grow. I know that each performance there will be a unique experience, and that the new building will greatly enhance the town of Bolton.

Why did you decide to donate to the Octagon?

Simple, we wanted to give something back to an organisation that has given us so much support and pleasure.  It is an honour to donate to the Octagon and we enjoy the giving.
