We’re back with a new series of our popular podcast

The latest five part instalment will put a spotlight on backstage and behind the scenes theatre careers

We are excited to announce a new series of our popular Octagon Theatre Podcast, which first launched last summer. Listen to the first series here

This is your chance to go behind the scenes at the Octagon as hosts Lotte Wakeham (our artistic director) and Alex Joynes (our creative engagement and literary coordinator) interview special guests and give exclusive updates about what’s going on at the theatre.

In the first of the five part mini-series, listeners can find out all the latest news about our recently announced Warm Up season, whilst the remaining episodes shine a light on theatre careers including technical and creative roles.

The upcoming series will include established names from the theatre world who will share advice and insights based on their own experiences of working in the industry. Special guests include: sound designer Tony Gayle, theatre designer and recipient of the Linbury Prize design award TK Hay, lighting designer Jane Lalljee, technical manager Kay Buckley, director Iqbal Khan, voice and accent coach Natalie Grady and movement director and choreographer Shelley Maxwell.

Artistic Director Lotte Wakeham said: “It’s brilliant to be back with a second series of the Octagon Theatre podcast. In this series we want to shine a spotlight on ‘behind the scenes’ careers in theatre, as well as keep listeners up to date with everything that’s going on in our brand new theatre building. We have lots of wonderful guests lined up for this series – all of them are incredibly talented industry professionals who have invaluable advice and wisdom for our listeners as well as some very entertaining stories to share. My co-host Alex and I will also be answering listeners’ questions and offering recommendations. We’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback!”

Series 2 of our podcast will be released weekly with episode 1 available from Friday 21 May 2021.
