Summer Holiday back on the road after unexpected flooding

Summer Holiday back on the road after unexpected flooding

Torrential rain on Saturday saw a flash flood in the building causing the matinee to be cut short and the evening performance to be cancelled.

After dedicated staff members worked throughout the whole of the weekend to ensure the building was dried out and returned to working order - electricians and roofers have approved the building as safe to re-open and all scheduled performances of Summer Holiday this week will take place as planned.

If you were in attendance or due to attend one of Saturdays performances our Box Office team will be in touch with you today and where possible offer tickets to alternative performances or refunds.

We are also pleased to announce an extra performance of Summer Holiday has been scheduled for Wednesday at 2pm to accommodate ticket holders who were unable to attend on Saturday. Box Office lines are expected to be very busy today as they will be calling all affected customers.

Staff and volunteers continue their work today preparing Front of House areas and backstage ready for the building to reopen for this evening’s performance [Mon 18 June]. Café Eight will resume normal food service from tomorrow [Tue 19 June].

The Octagon theatre would like to thank everyone for all of the kind messages support it has received so far and the positive and patient reception following the incident on Saturday.

Thanks also to Transport for Greater Manchester and Vision Buses who have been key in helping us get the show back on the road.
