The Octagon Academy is recruiting

We're looking for 25 young people to write and produce and a new play for Bolton!

"It's good fun and you meet new people"

The Octagon Academy is free and open to anyone aged 11 to 21 who is new to theatre and wants to try something different.

You don't need any experience of writing or performing. You just need to have ideas, stories to tell and the commitment to come every week. You will work alongside other young people and our friendly Artistic team and we'll teach you everything you need to know about how to produce a play from first draft to opening night.

There are two ways you can get involved...

  • WRITING - you will be in charge of creating the story and the script.
  • THE COMPANY - you will work on the production - acting, lighting, sound, directing, design, stage management, front of house and marketing.

You'll receive all the training you need as you go along and you will also get an Arts Award, a nationally recognised qualification.

"You get to learn a lot about acting and production and you are treated like a professional"
