Find out the full programme of events for our ReAct Celebration Week
As part of our ReAct programme, a project that aims to improve wellbeing in over 50s in Bolton, we are delighted to announce details of a week of creative activities and experiences open to anyone aged 50+.
ReAct Celebration Week takes place from Mon 11 – Sat 16 July and will include a wide variety of activities, workshops and sharings - from visual art installations, crafts, yoga, play readings, painting, writing, music and much more.
All of the events are free to attend for anyone over 50 and open to all levels of experience and ability.
Launched in 2020, ReAct is a National Lottery funded project that increases artistic experiences for over 50s; providing accessible and appealing opportunities to many that may not ordinarily visit the Octagon.
ReAct Celebration Week has been co-designed by members of the local community after our call-out in April looking for volunteers to become Community Creators, working with our Creative Engagement department to launch this flagship event.
ReAct producer at the Octagon, Caitlin Gleeson commented: “I am delighted that we can bring this new event to the Bolton community. Since launching ReAct in 2020 we have brought many new opportunities for over 50s, from a theatre club to a choir, but to have a dedicated week of events and activities to showcase their creativity and provide new experiences is very exciting.
“Our Community Creators and everyone involved have worked so passionately to help put this event together and I am incredibly proud and thankful for all their commitment and hard work. We have a wonderful and varied programme of activities and we welcome all levels of ability from complete beginners to seasoned pros – we encourage you all to come along, take part, try something new and meet lots of new people along the way.”
ReAct Celebration Week takes place at the Octagon from Mon 11 – Sat 16 July.
