Octagon Theatre Bolton is excited to announce the 2017-18 festive show will be an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ iconic A Christmas Carol - this is the first show announced for the Octagon’s 50th anniversary season. This beautiful tale of discovery, hope, and joy will be the Octagon’s festive show next year, welcoming audiences from across Bolton and beyond.
As the snow settles on the rooftops of a Victorian town, festive joy fills the heart of every adult and child across the land. Except, that is, for miserable, miserly Ebeneezer Scrooge who says “Bah Humbug!” to the festive season… but all of that is about to change. When Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his old business partner, Jacob Marley, he is taken on a mysterious journey of discovery through Christmases past, present and future.
On announcing A Christmas Carol, Artistic Director Elizabeth Newman said: "It's incredibly exciting that A Christmas Carol is the first show that we're announcing for our 50th Anniversary Season! It's a beautiful tale all about hope, redemption and compassion - all very important to life and to the festive season. We are absolutely delighted to bring it to life here in Bolton next year. We promise lots of fun and a little touch of traditional Dickensian magic."
