We've been nominated for a Bolton Business Award!
Octagon Theatre Bolton has been shortlisted for a Community Award this year in the Bolton Business Awards.
The nomination recognises the commitment to delivering arts to the Bolton Community under the People's Theatre initiative lead by Artistic Director Elizabeth Newman. The Octagon Theatre has delivered artistic programmes that have engaged more young people, community groups and emerging artists than ever before, including National Octagon Prize, Best of Bolton and REVEAL Festival celebrating new work in Bolton.
For it's work with Refugees and Asylum Seekers the Octagon Theatre was awarded Theatre of Sanctuary status from City of Sanctuary and continues to integrate all parts of the Bolton community into artistic decision making through Dinner Parties and Open Days. The Octagon's festive production A Christmas Carol saw work in the community and collaboration with the Young Company and the theatres first Dementia Friendly performance. For families there has been open days and large-scale events like the Octagon Pleasure Beach which welcomed thousands of new visitors to the theatre.
Also nominated alongside the Octagon for the Community Award are Bolton Family, Bolton FM and Bolton Hospice in Partnership, Boo Coaching & Consulting, and Westhoughton Community Hub.
In 2017 Octagon Theatre Bolton won the Customer Excellence Award as part of the Bolton Business Awards.
Congratulations to all the organisations that have been recognised for their achievements in Bolton.
