Elizabeth Newman at the Octagon Theatre - Part 2

As well as the wonderful moments on our stage we want to celebrate Elizabeth's passion for the Bolton community and how she worked to make everyone feel welcome at the Octagon! Here are just some of the wonderful moments from Elizabeth's time as Artistic Director.

In 2016 Elizabeth had the idea to transform our theatre into a beach to welcome the public during Bolton Food and Drink Festival - here is Elizabeth helping to entertain the 1000s of people who enjoyed the Bolton beach!

We welcomed 100s of people to community Dinner Parties to help start conversations with audiences who don't usually come to the theatre - here is one of our youngest guests with Elizabeth!

This year we are thrilled to have received the status of Theatre of Sanctuary - awarded to the Octagon for our work with refugees and asylum seekers in Bolton.

Our first open day in 2016!

Our community production of Gulliver's Travels involved 100s of participants from across Bolton to create magic in Queens Park. Here is Elizabeth introducing one of our giant puppets to a young passerby.
